Production Log 1

Success, Challenges & Targets for next week.

The success we had this week was more to do with the production of our short film, we was able to film a majority of the film ready to start editing. In total our film has 9 scenes in which this week we was able to film 8. Our one challenge that we did face was getting the actors together to film the last scene we needed to complete production of the short film. Our targets for next week is to start editing the short film, as we have a majority filmed, and further we aim to complete production of the short film. We feel these targets are achievable and further feel that we are on time with the production schedule.

Team performance, Contingency plans.

In terms of the performance of the team, we have performed well, being organised and working together with a good cohesion. Although we may have different ideas at times, we are able to come to a compromise or discuss things to achieve the best outcome for the film. We was able to use one of our primary locations  which was Ben's house, however we did originally want to film in Brighton, which was not possible at the time of production, this meant that we had to use one our contingency locations which was Southend. Although this was a change for us, we was able to get things filmed, and we felt to a good standard. Aside from the locations we didn't need to use any other contingencies and was able to use all other primary resources.

Monitoring final product, Problem solving, Quality control.

In terms of how the final product looks, we feel that large parts of the filming were successful. However, when we start to edit then we will have a more in depth idea of how the final product is looking. As for problem solving, we did have problems with the casting. Our original cast pulled out and we was left with only a couple of days to film. However we were able to pull together and find some other people that were willing to be apart of our cast. Whilst it was a crisis at the time we felt that we were able to work around it. In terms of quality control we was able to see that most of the scenes were in focus and filmed well. However we did notice that one of the night scenes looked too grainy and too dark, which we would later need to re-shoot. Aside from this scene the rest of our footage at this point seemed to be fine.
